I guess that most if not all of us keep most of our trees outdoors, at least in the summer. This of course leads to the pots being constantly filled with various grasses and weeds. Many of us probably us Preen (a per-emergent) in our gardens.

But does anyone use Preen in their bonsai and training pots? If so what are your comments?

Nope I control weeds in my bonsai pots with my fingers and pulling said offending weed out of the pot.
I dont like the idea of spraying concentrated plant killers in my confined pots for any reason.
Id be afraid to upset the chemical and microbial balance of the bonsai soil.

I would never chance it with the limited root system of any potted plant, especially never on a Bonsai.

I worked at a nursery once and we used to put it in with trees in buckets. It never killed any trees but all the same I wouldn't risk putting it in my bonsai. Besides pulling weeds out of my trees gives me something to do in the summer besides watching my trees grow.
