Princess persimmon fruits dropping off early.

All my fruits have dropped off one by one. At first I thought it was birds no way they would eat it this early. Is this what happens when you over fertilize? I might have done so.

I have this happened to me quite a few times. I heard from a nursery man that it is most likely to be from overwatered. I haven't really try to restrict the water after the fruit started as mine are still in the grow out phase.

how did you fertilize? I was just using maybe 4 cubes of biogold, and fish emulsion once a week. It's still with a very granular high scoria mix, maybe it is retaining a lot of water as you said. This is a seedless fruit producing one from Ed.

This is a parthenocaric seeless fruit producing one from ed clark. Other folks seem to get fruit just fine without a male.

Did all your fruit have 3 sepals? (If so that is pretty cool we should trade)

This is June drop. Yes some persimmons make fruit without seed, but the holding rate is higher with a male. I fertilize the crap out of my trees so I don't think its over fertilization. Sometimes a tree just isn't feeling it some years

I don't have proof, but I have had better personal experience when I place males in close proximity to the females while they are both blooming. Unfertilized females will bare fruit... but they tend to drop before they mature (at least for me).

It is also important that the males bloom at the same time as the females (similar to winterberries). I had a problem with my large male blooming early, and my largest female bloomed close to the same time. But several of my other females bloomed much later, and I got significantly less fruit on those trees.

Last winter I got about 1000 fruit off my largest female.
