One of last years projects underway. Not finding any dead brown foliage at all.

I know the bottom left branch on the right tree is conflicting with the left tree that grows straight left to start with
but I'll figure something out. No wire yet, so hopefully I can bring a little definition to the left this year.
Not bad for a 1g nursery find at Lowes.

Here's an areal shot, yep still needs some wire.DSC_4027.JPG

Speaking of procumbens and sisters, my 3 cascades are also underway.
Brings back memories of the 3 Sisters Lighthouses in Cape Cod...sort of, well it did for me.

Really need to wire down to the lower apex this year. Remained in recovery all last year, as the March 2018 repotting
gave it a serious set back, following a 2017 thinning, thus the full pads we have now.
Plans this year to thin the top half and wire the lower half.

I missed one of the cascade beginners, thought I may as well picture the whole family.
Most have not had their Spring grooming so far, this is just getting ramped up for some maintenance.

After minor cut back. Need lots of Sun and food.
There's a surface branch and the second branch both on the right which are possibly both sacrifices.
Not sure if this one is going to be a formal cascade or not. In the meantime...

This one (trunk) reminds me of a San Jose juniper @Brewing and Bonsai posted in his Quarentene Chuhin thread last pic 1st post.

Of course I like his juniper better, but I can have fun with this one :)

I really like Nanas, and yours are set up very well! Those trees do look alike, and SJ foliage is similar to nana, just larger! Thanks for the compliment!!!

I have a few Nanas I have worked on myself, and a whole boatload of nanas waiting for this quarrentene to be over! I was planning on doing a beginner workshop with some interested high school students, and a workshop with my club. Hopefully we can get together in May like I had planned. I would share pictures, but I don’t want to hijack your thread. PM me if you want to see!

DUDE! Post away I'm just using space BN allows, it's an open thread anyone can post their procumbens coming out of dormancy.
Sisters was referring to the 2 in the 1st post, but then I had the 3 err 4 "cascades" and well, they're "All in the Family" :)
I still have a couple of stragglers on the card somewhere...oops they're in card slot 2 on the camera

My favorite nana is “Sammy’s Nana.” Sammy is my 3 1/2 year old son, and he loves to help when I let him. Here is pictures from last season, and the tree as of March 2020.

Here's one I bought on eBay 3 or 4 years ago in a 4" pot

Really nice trunk line.

Next 2 ^ are of a 6 pack of starters I got on eBay 2016. Waters passing good should get styled somewhat this year on the 1st one.

another Lowes nursery special. Should get potted up this year.

Lastly one to try layering on. I really don't like this one and it shows. You can see brown in it and on the soil, but here it is. Needs a carwash.

Very cool, you really condensed that down. Are you keeping the side root coming off of the trunk?
Looks like Sammy's coming into the hobby the right way and time. My dad would've LOVED this hobby!
