I was preparing this satsuki azalea "wakaebisu" for the Houston Chinese Bonsai Society show on May 14 and 15; and was trying to control the blooms to coincide with the event. This series of photos documents the beginning of the bloom on 5/1 till today. Almost in full blooms, but am happy with what I could get. All the flowers, from the first one on 5/1, are in good shape. No overhead watering, just soaked the pot in a bucket of water for the last two weeks.

This goes to show the pot shouldn't fight the blooms. Both are very nice, should sum up some ongoing conversations about azalea/pot combos. Nice work!
Fully agreed.
