Ok say I agree with you, at what point is $2.63/ hr making a living, it's about the only place/job I know that it's ok to pay chinese slave labor rates by our government, how can you say a tip is optional. I still stand on if you offer a suggestion that you do not have any business expecting someone to wait on you. By the way 15% is the standard country wide as far as I know, offering less is an insult to anybody who is paid by the employer, based on good service. Again I know she could find another job, but how do be a retro active asshole to someone who stiffs you. Personally I'd throw a catsup bottle, but thats just me. Now go work a wait job and do not declare tips on your tax form and see how much tips aren't considered wages, can you say intrest and penalties, I can because I know by filling out the friggen tax forms. How about the fact that the IRS looks at what your bill is and taxes her for 8% of the bill wether or not some A hole leaves her a penny or a twenty
Clarification point.- Good service should NOT take into account your taste or food preferances, the kitchen staff is actually paid to work and is responsible, if you have food prep issues it's your responsability to bring it to attention.
My wife has gotten entire bills comped for customers for time issues etc from the kitchen staff, and the pricks would tip maybe a dollar or two, after eating the entire meal, you gonna tell me thats ok too. I'll add to for her rep. that there have been at least 5 attemps from other restaraunt owners to recruit her out of her job now, to work for them as a waitress supervisor. It's not her lack of service or personality, it's actually cheap ass people.
