Yeah, just entering autumn, Mike. But stuff is still growing.
It was a collect or loose situation.

Then you have time for it to recover. Especially if you have mild winters. I would give it protection through the winter but it does have a chance of making it.

You might wanna saw it shorter though. Last year I left mine too long and basically a whole year of growing is now gone. Had I cut it as short as it should be, as it is going to be, right away, it would have nice almost thick enough secondary branches...
Ah well, won't happen again I hope.

Think out a plan!

Start right away!

Before it's too late!

I have been thinking about it but don't want to disturb the tree. But probably will do so today.

I might've just needed your comment to do so.

Great find!

It is a bad time but hope it lives.

No it is not. If you can keep them frost-free, it's the best time.

If you take good care of them, not only will they live, but it's rare to see such big Pyracanthas.

You have a responsability there

I hope so, I am not sure what to expect... if these will send out buds now that autumn has started or will they stay like this until spring.
Well it is in nice soil with rhizotonic (some might say its a gimmick) and protected from the sun. Only time will tell.

Many Qs...
Any foliage left?
Temperate trees collected in autumn can grow new roots till the temps get below 5-6℃, at least from my experience. (without new above ground growth)...
Looking like a promising material, fingers crossed.

You can see some where the back of the tree is.
Temps will be above 5 degrees during every day of winter. Maybe drop to -2 or -3 for three nights in the winter. and go above during the day. Freezing has never been an issue for us here.
It does have a lot of feeder roots as what you see in that image.

I have more faith in this tree than an obese person on a herbalife diet.
