Will this work as a board? Started the work and realised I forgot to source a bigger tile 🙄😂

Can I add a tiny recommendation?
Poke a gazillion tiny needle holes in that piece of plastic. Roots that grow through it will constrict and die off, but it'll help retain a good water balance in your soil.

9?
I have only tried 'boards' with trident maples. Roots are very strong. Most (plastic, cement sheet, even wall tiles) were squashed or broken in just a couple of years as the roots grew and thickened. Now only use metal plates which resist root pressure better.
Agree about holes in plates where the roots are small but for trees like this where roots are already over the edge of your board I can't see much point.
