Most sites I read say to remove flowers once spent.
Does that mean yank them off or just flick them off?
My white quince flowers come off easy but the red ones hang on for dear life.
Should they be PULLED off? Green base and all?

We remove these the same way that azalea flowers are removed. Twist slightly while digging in fingernails. Or just twist, depending on type stem.

No point just flicking off the spent petals and leaving the developing seed capsule so, yes, you do need to snip or pull the whole spent flower.
Very few quince flowers get pollinated here so I just let them fall naturally and only bother snipping off any that I notice swelling indicating seeds developing.
