My neighbor has a hedge along our driveway that happens to have a few Flowering Quince bush's in it. Never knew what they were until I look them up last year. They get the pink flowers and little yellow fruit and all. Very bitter by the way..lol. He said they have been there as long as he could remember, and had no idea what they were. I tried planting the seeds from the fruit and got no results. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the seeds to germinate..Thx.

The seeds may be sterile.
Were the seeds you tried to germinate cold stratified prior to sowing? If not that is probably it. Quince fruit isn't very good 'eating fruit' due to the pungent taste, most of the time the shrub is used for ornamental purposes. They can however be used to make jams and there is a liquor made in Japan with them as well if I am not mistaken.
