The only places I know of to get his trees are from Natures Way Nursery in PA, or Ryan Neil in Oregon. -- You wll need to contact them to get pics and pricing because I don't think either have anything listed on line for sale.

He's another that quit posting here some time ago. Last I heard, and I believe it is posted here somewhere, he ceased his on line and retail business. I thought he was working with Ryan for the most part.

Its a tough market and its not easy to make it worth doing.

Randy is alive and well (or was last week). He's never posted here as far as I know you must be thinking of Jason. He was trying to put up a new website last year but I"m not sure what happened with that.

Majority of Randy's trees are available for sale through Ryan. I would contact Ryan and let him know what you are interested in.

Ok, I just talked to Randy and he's said it's okay to update things here. I wanted to wait for his permission since it's his business not mine. Randy and I are friends and I work at Oregon Bonsai as often as I can (which is never often enough). Randy's website should be up later in the spring, there just hasn't been enough time to get it going since it's digging season and thousands of field trees needed dug this year. I can tell you that the quality of field trees is phenomenal and the yamadori is as great as ever. I've seen just about everything he's got and every time I go out there, I'm blown away.

so to put things to rest, he's not out of business just really busy. If you have an idea of what you're looking for, PM and I"ll try my best to play middle man until the website is up. I'll try to get some general pictures up of some of the yamadori later, they're on my phone so I need to transfer all that crap.

Just a +1 for Randy.
He's a really great guy and the trees I have gotten from him have been top notch.
Very personable, and easy to talk to!

sorry it took so long. here are some examples of trees Randy offers for those who are unaware. I can't promise these exact trees are still around as the pics are older but it gives an idea. If you're looking you can contact Ryan, or PM me and we'll try to get things together until the website is up.

Thanks for the pics, just one question, does he not deal with D trees?

Field grown, yes, by the thousand actually lol. There's a gap just now being left behind since he reassessed the quality of the field grown stuff and did some mass culling a few years back. He really doesn't collect yamadori D trees though if that's what you're wondering. Let me try to find a pic of one of the field maples that came out this year. it's pretty mind boggling hopefully the pic will convey it's massiveness, I pretty much suck at photography.
