Red wood and Siqouia

I am sprouting some red wood and siqouia trees that I will make bonsais does anyone have any good tips on them?😁

Yes. Get huge pots🧐. Redwood grow constantly like weeds in growing season. Not sure about Sequoia but are huge trees.

Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides) and Sequoiadendron giganteum start growing a bit later in the year than maples for example, but if you give them a big pot, when they grow they do so quickly. Mine at least trippled in weight this year.
Dont trunk chop dawn redwood in the growing season
I grow mine in peat and bark 50/50 but Im sure many mixes will work, and perhaps you can avoid dawn redwood disease issues if you use a more inorganic mix for that

For giant sequoia, go to giant-sequoia.com. That site has good info about growing GS in containers. Usually other species are used to emulate the ancient redwoods as bonsai, but your task is certainly not impossible if you can access and make use of the knowledge base.
