Anybody in the Northeast having success with redwoods? Or are our winter temps too severe?

What type of redwood? Dawn redwood or coast redwood? Very different species. Dawn redwood does great around here (both in pots and in the ground). Coast redwood is trickier (won't survive our winters outdoors), I have a couple that I've kept alive for a few years but they seem to be weakening with time.

Coast redwood is far too cold sensitive to survive in zones 4,5 and 6. I have one in a pot that I am going to overwinter near a window from December-February.
