So I noticed the couple of boxes I have are setting their little flower bud clusters. I was intrigued by this last year as my first time watching the cycle. Even though the flowers aren't that interesting it's a part of the plants cycle that most people don't even realize is happening or may not get to see in landscaping. Either way, a recurring theme in bonsai is flower bud removal for the redirection of energy. Will boxwood benefit from this also? I mean as in enough to do it. I have read that azaleas can bloom them selves to death and I know that is not the case here, but if it gets a stronger flush of leaves I would do. If it would be worth doing would I do that now or before they break trying to avoid any damage at this point?

By and large flowers on boxwood are pretty inconsequential. I remove the fruit in the spring, , much easier to see and cut off than the flowers.
