July 31-oct 9 air layer off a fukien tea I got from home depot for dirt cheap because it was knocked over, guy slapped a discount sticker on and off I was..original tree had like 3 90 degree angles so I figured the top half would make best tree..first air layering ..was iffy about time of year since it was my first but experimentation is everything so no harm in the process!

How is it doing? Was thinking of attempting the same, and I’m encouraged to see this!

Unfortunately right before i brought it inside for winter we had really high winds and it got hit by a chair that blew across the deck..being uprooted was too aggressive for those new roots..it is still alive actually but dropped basically all of its leaves this past week..been struggling ever since :( but every once n a while i scratch a little bark to see if we are still green and we sure are..only because they are pretty tough but im upset because i really liked how it was going and it was super healthy..it was literally the week i intended on bringing it inside too so it was like a day late dollar short type story...i really hope spring makes it pop back

Aww, sorry to hear that, these storms have been rough down here too. Keep loving on it and fingers crossed! I’ll post if I end up doing it also
