Hey gang, I collected this old box 3 or 4 years ago, tossed it in this nursery crate, and haven't touched it since until last weekend, when I performed an initial styling and removed at least 80% of the foliage. Worked it pretty hard.
My question is, given the slow pace of buxus and the old age of this particular tree, am I safe to go ahead and work the roots for the first time too? Or should I give the tree time to recover before I continue developing it? I wouldn't say it's terribly rootbound yet, just a little snug.
Pardon the lack of effort in the photography department - I was zapped at the time and the tree was too heavy to justify moving it for a picture.
