If there weren't many feeder roots and you potted into a larger container, you run the risk of over watering. I live in a much warmer climate than you so I can't give solid advice. I typically repot figs mid spring or even late summer, though my climate allows me to do it any time of the year. I generally defoliate my figs at repotting time, this reduces transpiration and allows the roots to begin growing before throwing out shoots. If repotting in leaf, depending on the severity of the root pruning I would expect the plant to behave like yours.
You've got it in a good mix though I imagine it's still too cold for this treatment. Is it indoors or outdoors? In any case, I would trim the leaves off. I would normally remove the terminal bud but im guessing this tree wasn't all that healthy to begin with so it would pay to leave it. Only water when almost dry. It's a fig, it should bounce back OK so long as its not exposed to near freezing temps
