Ok I'm a true noob to Bonsai. So I probably don't stand a chance to win, but I want to learn as much as I can so I'm gonna play along and see what happens maybe I'll get lucky. I have 115 seeds so 1 maybe ok in 6 yrs

On 3rd of Feb. you planted the pre-soaked seeds and the next day (on 4th of Feb. according to your label) you had your first sprouts?!?! o_O

@Rick Walden in your first photo I can read the word "Replant"
If you don't mind, may I ask what do you mean with "Replant"? Why Re-plant?
Isn't this first time you plant the seeds?
Perhaps, I'm missing something...

Yes I was gonna drop out and planted seeds early back in December but didn't have a thermostat on my heat mat and cooked the seeds. So after that I reordered seeds and replanted them. So as it was in Feb I figured I would reenter and play along. Tho I don't stand a chance here. Too many masters around to kick my butt

I still have about 100 seeds or more I'm gonna put the in a propagation tray outside when I'm sure it's not gonna freeze again down here

Same here! :D
BUT main purpose of the contest is the exchange of knowledge, experiences, notices taken and the similar.
Sharing in friendly disposition with other Nuts. Besides, why are we all called Nuts? :D
Plus the enjoyment and fun of it!

So I picked up a copy of Bonsai Today # 12 I had seen most of the info here. It was very similar to Markyscotts post on growing JBP from seedling Cuttings. Here are cutting I did today. I did a couple of the Zelkova I had also for broom style but they didn't work out quite right had a big bend in the stalk from not grow seed with point down. I think I may be off on the timing for the cuttings . A few have to many needles and one or two may be early with out the needles yet

Ok so I soaked those seeds over night put em in the frige for about 2 weeks ish and sowed em in different soil. Mainly cause I ran out of Miricale Grow Seedling mix and the new bag I bought had very little if any perlite in it and did not drain well. Went back to Lowes picked up 3 bags of perlite and 3 bags of peat and mixed up some of that with some vermiculite I already had. Once they were all in the dirt I covered with just a little sand I had. All the stuff with sand on em is a new batch the others in the black seedling mix as you can see from the pics. Now I'm not sure it is the new mix I made up, because it drains a lot better than the bagged seedling mix. Maybe its cause I stuck the seeds in the frige for a couple weeks before planting, which I did not do at all with the other batch. As of now I have a ton more sprouts this go round than last time. I did stick em outside for a day or two but was unsure of myself and brought em inside to the grow light which made em sprout very quickly. I did leave one tray outside but brought it in after the other 2 trays starting sprout under the grow lamp. The trays with a lot more sand is the pods I left outside a bit longer and they are taking off as soon as I got em under the light

I do have a question . Now that these guys are going so good inside when should I move em outside?????? It is getting down in the high 50s to low 60s at night, mid to high 70s even some low 80s during the day down here. The weather is showing about the same with some rain moving in around Sunday this week. The table they are on is cedar and can go out with em to provide shade until they can handle more sunlight. They are on a 14hr schedule of light atm with temps inside remaining 72ish
