RIP My Trusty Dusty Trail Mutt

My dog, Dilly, died tonight. Almost 10 years old.
She spent so much time on the trail with me it's hard to imagine being in the woods without her. The kids don't remember a time she wasn't there.
I'll carry her out there one last time in the morning.




We'll miss our adventures together more than I miss an old pair of boots.

All dogs are special. We lost one of ours this spring... 16.5 years old but the time still felt too short.

Shady, my 38 year old son lost his best pal in August. His hobby is nature photography and he and his rescue "Chance" spent almost 10 years exploring the mountains together. So sad. My sincere condolences.
