Roadsode Yamadori Identification and Suitability

I'm eyeing some roadside yamadori but not 100% certain on species and suitability. For instance seeing a lot of these juniper. The growth habit appears much more horizontal than the native j. Virginiana. Quite sparkling like a ground cover but branches spear up at a 30-40 degree angle. 20220521_093729.jpg

Noted quite a few of these pines that have an interesting Windswept look at times. I'm guessing Jack pine ( P. Banksia) which if correct are a little fussy to collect un my experience.

Finally this last fellow looks like it might have little suitable small leaves. Not sure about how it will branch. I'm thinking Hawthorn?

I would just do first pruning and listen for shotgun

I have found hawthorns easy to collect. But before you dig find the landowner and get permission.
