There was another I didn’t get a picture of, but if it was a piñon, it had the longest needles I’ve ever seen on one.
Cool to see. It’s a cool one, but I still haven’t seen a stellar piñon as a Bonsai yet. And I’m certainly no closer to making one as I’ve killed every one I’ve attempted to collect! And, this is a small gripe, but is an “ñ” really that hard to use or recognize?!?! 😂🤷🏼‍♂️

There were some stellar piñons for sure. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures of every tree there. Regretting it now!

I’ll add a few more pics to the thread though...it wasn’t all native conifers, although I’d say maybe ~75% were yamadori from the Rocky Mountain region.CF6B6E35-9074-43C9-8CC2-2CA498993A4D.jpeg5B607AD1-0C7D-461E-9E59-49D6D751835C.jpegE0688092-0F91-4440-BF2C-9D003759A90A.jpeg

Very nice, some really interesting stuff, will take some time to go thru these again. That limber pine! Thanks for posting, send up some more photos if you get more.

We hired a pro photographer to take photos of each tree in a booth. When we have some access to those photos I'll post them on bnut. For now, thank goodness for pinonj.
I look forward to that...

Lovely tree, just wish there were more broadleaf species.

Shrug, mountains.

Many people have trouble with non-natives out here. Our temperature fluctuations are pretty insane in the Spring/Fall. It can play hell on deciduous or broad leaf stuff if you don't have a greenhouse.
