My Forsythia cuttings have grown like crazy since I transferred to bonsai soil 6 weeks ago. I covered all of the roots, including the future nebari. On this plant however, one side had roots, and the other has developed a large callus. Should I remove this callus to encourage even, radial root development, or will this tissue generate roots eventually? About one third of the circumference around the trunk has no roots because of this callus, making any future nebari lopsided.

I've noted Forsythia as one of the easiest plants to get radial roots from.

It seems in their "DNA".

Just wait.

Good advice; be patient with bonsai. Thanks for reinforcing that.
