I am looking to pickup a pair of root cutters…what do you suggest for a first pair, 8” or 10”? Thanks for the insight.

I find that the 8” are not all that useful because smaller roots can be cut with shears anyway. I really appreciate the large cutters and use them more than the smaller size.

Agreed. I don't own s small pair, just the big ones. Lots of other tools can be used for smaller roots just make sure you cut them cleanly.

Is there any difference between stainless steel and carbon steel besides a rust factor?
