Root over Arch

Hey, this is my first post here, I'm just curious for others opinions of this experiment i have in the works.

I have a few ROR developing and 2 that are fully exposed, this one is very different though. As you can see it is a kiln fired clay arch originally destined for a fish tank. It will now become a prop in this bonsai work.

Time will tell how the roots interact with the column, in 15 months i will dissect, rearrange and re-wrap. For now, this is what is..

(Please excuse my poor photography)

Experiments are fun. It will probably take a couple years for the ficus to get big enough to look right proportionally. But once it does this could look pretty cool.

Maybe think about other objects you may want in this pot at the end. If you plan on adding anything you might just toss it in now so everything has the same weathered look at the end. Maybe some tiny pieces of cut tile?

Looking forward to future pics.

Good advice, thank you.

Plus 2 points for creativity.
Minus 3 points for having the beverage turned the wrong way!

After it roots down, on a years down repot, I wonder if you couldn't get the roots to live on the bottom of the arch like a slab, and ditch the pot.
That would be worth 50 points!

Welcome to Crazy!
