This is a photo of a cedar brevifolia raft that I have growing in my garden. It was originally in a pot and I planted it in the ground about 18 months ago. I was disappointed this season when I dug it up and found no new roots benath the raft (It is about 13 inches up the trunk). I exposed fresh cambium beneath the raft and added hormone. Any bets whether it will take this time? Better yet, any suggestions?

Try wraping the area where you want roots with fresh cut sphagnum moss. This stuff is wonderful in getting things to root.
