Ive had this Abelia in the backyard for six years. It had grown to the standard size of approximately 4 x 4 feet. Earlier this spring I dug it up and cut it back hard. This is what growth I have after 2 months. I feel like the smart course of action is to leave it alone and let it continue growing out this year but I'm also concerned about the rapid growth getting away from me. I was really just looking for some thoughts from the community. It's about a foot tall at its tallest point and it's in a very deep 18 inch pot. 1000003815.jpg

Update. I decided to go in and shape it up about a month ago. The deadwood will need refinement especially at the initial cut sites. I added a top down view of the side to show the skeleton a little better. 1000004027.jpg1000004029.jpg
