Hi!
My name is Salam and I have been seeing these JBP 6 year threads for a while and just now understood that it actually is a fun sounding contest. Completely new to bonsai but I figure that this could be a good way to learn and have fun with it.
Just ordered some seeds from ebay. Let the fun begin!

Peace!

Is your summer in Sweden long and warm enough for growing black pine?
Our summers in Holland are very short allready nd you are far more north?

Haha I have no idea. But its worth a try! Worst case scenario, it wont work, but at least I have tried :)

Here is a graph that shows temperature over the year. I guess its worth a try!

Today, out of curiosity, I opened up the plastic bag in the fridge just to take a look at the seeds (They were put in the fridge march 2nd), and noticed 2 of them had cracked with the insides pushing out a bit. So I took these two out and planted them into a small pot with a mix of turface, pumus, lavarock, small lecaballs and potting soil (1:1:1:1:1). They are currently standing inside in a south-facing window. The rest of them I plan to plant in the same kind of soil but put outside on my balcony. However, I will wait until risk of freezing is over (snowed a lot today).

So yesterday I took out a bunch of seeds (about 15) from the fridge and planted them in an ice cream box and put them outside on my balcony. Now we wait!

A little update. I have 3+5 seedlings now and they are looking promising. Some pics will follow.

I have not done anything to them. They are just allowed to grow for year one at least.
