Salvaged Azalea(s)

It's getting towards that time of year again, where I'm ripping out old shrubs from peoples yards and planting new shrubs in their place. Because of this, I'm finding myself with a few "interesting" azaleas and the like that I think might have some Bonsai potential. I will be using this thread to "showcase" them and (hopefully ) get some feedback!

So azalea #1 as seen in the two pics below. I love it's trunk (It was like this when I dug it out) but I am not really quiet sure what to do with it (other then let it grow for a season or two or three first ). Any ideas / thoughts / comments on this poor little abused azalea? Or should it simply be sent to zee dump?

PS - more azaleas to come in the near future.

For as bad as it sounds (to dig trees in Canada in January), being in Vancouver is a whole lot different than being in Winnipeg!.. it rains there for much of the winter... much the same as the coastal PNW.
