Salvaged Azalea(s)

It's getting towards that time of year again, where I'm ripping out old shrubs from peoples yards and planting new shrubs in their place. :) Because of this, I'm finding myself with a few "interesting" azaleas and the like that I think might have some Bonsai potential. I will be using this thread to "showcase" them and (hopefully :p ) get some feedback! :cool:

So azalea #1 as seen in the two pics below. I love it's trunk (It was like this when I dug it out) but I am not really quiet sure what to do with it (other then let it grow for a season or two or three first :oops: ). Any ideas / thoughts / comments on this poor little abused azalea? Or should it simply be sent to zee dump?

PS - more azaleas to come in the near future. :cool:

Is January a good time to dig trees in a Canada?

For as bad as it sounds (to dig trees in Canada in January), being in Vancouver is a whole lot different than being in Winnipeg!.. it rains there for much of the winter... much the same as the coastal PNW.
