What a great guy!

Been talking to Sam for a few about pottery, he is one of my official comrades now!

This thing.....FB_IMG_1515715902901.jpg

One of those beautifully directionalized joints that I just LOVE!

New to the Auction, I thought someone "bought it now"...so I went and blew my load at the supply house yesterday....
Turns out...
It wasn't bought....

So...

With the support of @bonsaibp and @theone420 and a few others....on MY auctions this week....

I now gotta hide a box that will fit an 8.5x4 sick ass gas fired round with a dope ass flame lick and wicked color.

Post em if you got em!

Get one if you don't!

I tried but Robert really wanted them!
I saw that pot on the auction and really liked the flame kiss. I eyed it a few times. But I think I'm going to the winter silhouette show here at the LA Arboratum this weekend and they should have some things for sale.

Hand building, can take more time and has it's moments - @ColinFraser
Plus, it does not always fire evenly.
Often you have to immerse the pot in sand or other, to keep the shape
even in the firing.
Good Day
Anthony

* Just glad we make our own, the shipping cost

I’ve been eyeing his work too - especially the oxide stained stuff.
Just like some of my other favorite American potters though - sooooo many round pots!
Hit me dog....

Cali is already rocking more of my shit than Ill even!

Them gas fired joints are the shit though ain't it?

Let me at least try to flip your fancy for fun....pics?

I absolutely love the pots that Sam makes. He has been the main pusher man of my newly acquired ceramics addiction. I think I have bought about 20 pots from him at this point, and I am looking forward to a commissioned piece he’s working on for my nicest tree. Here are a few pics of what I bought from him early on. When I get home EA978716-06D0-43B3-B7C2-CA2AB6E2BEEF.jpeg DFD69090-C277-4A46-AF84-B91CAB8CC488.jpeg A498F6BC-824F-4CDB-B651-723D09AFA95B.jpeg 8CB387F5-D73E-4E8D-AAB4-657EE0E1C86A.jpeg B611EC8A-74F6-4366-AECC-9D4CCB99009D.jpeg 591B87A9-A3F0-40F5-8FA0-74AD0B82AB1F.jpeg 9CCDFB0B-E172-456D-BE1E-031532018316.jpeg 52B30111-6C21-46C4-9BE0-67381AB70E9A.jpeg I will post pics of recent acquisitions, as his work seems to get better with each firing.

Mad true!

@thams you should update the Site with some newer stuff of his. Maybe delete some old...IMO....
This newer stuff is already so much more properly representative of his work....
Imo...if it was me... ..... .....

Thanks for sharing Josh!

This is something that I've been meaning to do with several artists - especially Sam. Hopefully I'll get around to that plus adding some new folks during this long weekend.

I have a few Sam pots too that I picked up a year or maybe longer ago. Great glazes, heavy clay, and lots of drainage and anchor points.
