The trunk should be chopped to the soil line, and then allowed to slowly die.

Now that I have your attention, when is the next Toko Kazari?!?!?!

"That", was the funniest thing I have read this week.

...and attention aside I have no freakin idea. I will let you know when I know tho

coolg

I would suggest displaying it even in the general discussion area since a few displays have seen very good bantor there recently. If not there then in the area marked "advanced topics" could be another place to put high quality displays and what they are all about.

Seriously guys? This was from 2 years ago, and was meant to go with the few threads on the Toko Kazari that were circulating at that time.

People must be bored. Bonsai are mostly sleeping for the winter and there arent many new posts lately. So they are reading down the page more and dredging up old posts.....

This site and others have just been smoldering along since August. It is as though people have lost interest, or they are afraid to post anything. No one seems to post projects anymore and of course I understand the time of year, but; that really should not be a large problem for wiring projects, which can be accomplished in the winter.

If blogs and Face book were gone this place would perk up...as it is there is nothing left here but trying to identify plants and save a half dead mallsai. Anyone doing bonsai on a semi elevated level does not post to a public forum anymore. The grief is just not worth the effort.

There is much going on in California right now with exhibits and swapmeets, and the wireing of trees. You won't see much of that here though... should be 61 and light clouds today.

There are still a few of us who post projects... I still find it nice to hear feedback and constructive critique. And I value that even if there is other stuff that goes along with it.

You are rare indeed. But I have noticed your uptick at study group this year?

I disagree Al. Though I don't have a blog I have not had enough interest to go and follow anyone in-particular. Face Book??? Though I post on FB I have found that this is not the ideal place to discuss technique and share beginnings and ends of projects. You post a picture of a tree and it goes right by if no one is paying attention.

I disagree too. In fact I just wrote a long blog post about the demise of forums and tweeted the link to my Facebook feed.

It seems it was a spammer that bumped this back to the top.

Now, who has a project to share so we can use it as an excuse to argue soils and inflame a few sensitive liberals?

Thats the problem....too much disagreeing and not enough real discussion. Discussion is not about voicing ones different opinion and trying to make an opposite concensus. Anyone can do that. For instance there are many here that continue to post experiments with akadama in efforts to disproove its worthiness, why it holds water, why it has a high CEC, etc, etc.

The point is from more than a few hobbiests and professionals is that it is worth the price and it does exceed expectations as a soil component. Now if one does not agree with that, fine, don't spend the money for it, leave it for me and the others that do use it, but don't disparage it nor argue how turface does the same thing. "That" person is just flat wrong...end of story.

Besides that, posts like this are needed for cold rainey days...

I go to someone's blog only if I see it on here and that is because it benefits me. Here and on blogs I try to look past all the bickering and just use information that would be useful to me. I will use any information I can find to learn.
