I just put these together today then saw this contest, so I didn't get a before picture. The 2 largest trees are seedlings from '18. The smaller trees were some rooted cuttings and some seedlings I plucked at a local park.

Thanks, I was very happy with how it turned out. This is my second small seedling forest and they are quite rewarding little projects for such young material

The placement is almost “magical” already!
It would look AWESOME “backed” with a sunburst sphere.. from Intense, Bright(ish) winter gray.. centered behind your MAIN tree. (Forward and stage left of those three lil’ guys)... fading quickly to charcoal,. Then to black.. bright night style.

....I feel, in the future.. a smaller "stragler" to that left space would really "Relax" the overall feel.

Looking good!

Thanks, I like the idea of more trees! Maybe I'll stick a flat of the cuttings this year to have some options when I repot. I'll get more aggressive with my height reduction as well.

More serious cutback today, some gentle wiring to guide the new leaders.

Back budding well, I need to research a little on building branch structure in forests. I do have one larger tree I could add to this and I potted up some root cutting volunteers from the compost
