image.jpeg image.jpeghello I found this little guy growing out of a dead log that fell in my mothers backyard this summer. Thought it looked like a young dogwood now not so sure. Any thoughts? image.jpeg

Go buy a tree at Mirai! Lol.

Honeysuckle, and Foemina, kind of sound like the same thing.

People digging things up out of season they don't even know what it is.
I love it.
What are your plans moving forward? I mean you must see something in this (whatever it is) that made you think bonsai.

Looks a bit "viney", but it might be an opposite leaf dogwood.

Well to be honest I didn't think it had any bonsai potential as of yet anyway. The leaves just kind of reminded me of a dogwood which is a tree I like. Being that I'm in Pennsylvania and dogwoods are native here and also that there's a nice one in my mothers front yard I thought maybe this was an errant seed that sprouted. It was in the base of the dead log so I just put it in a pot. I figured if it was a dogwood it would either die there or I could put it in the ground somewhere and let it grow. Simple really. Thanks for the responses.
