Hey, I’m looking to get a bonsai for branch/trunk chop. I wonder if I can use one saw for multiple purposes. Can I use the same saw mentioned above for larger yamadori in the future or will I need to get bigger saw? Would you recommend getting larger teeth saw for yamadori?

Are these the same saw, at different blade length from the same manufacture? Al have the green sticker and look very similar in design.

This folding saw will do most work one gives it. Just keep it clean and oiled.

We recently cut a 3” rhododendron branch with ours. There’s a stream were Ryan Neil cut a 2x6 with one.

cheers

I own the Joshua Roth saw, it is a bit flimsy but if used correctly, it works well. I don't imagine you'll have issues with larger cuts, but it may be a bit of work.

I use a Gerber folding saw I picked up many years ago. It's cut everything I've used it on.

Silky Pocket Boy. Excellent high quality, thin folding blade comes fine, medium or coarse teeth. Blade about 5-6". Highly recommend☺️.

I've got a saw very similar to that one if it isn't the same one and it works fine.

Depending on what size tree you work on you will need more than one. That one will work on medium to big trees, but for tight places, it will suck. I have 3, a Silky Gomboy 240, a Kings County 5", and a Kakuri Bonsai saw 3 1/8". I bought the Gomboy thinking that would be enough for everything, but nope. The one I use the most is the Kings County, it's a Japanese keyhole saw good for branches up to around 2", maybe more.

I ended up getting the Zubat since I had some store credit at bass pro and a 10$ discount code. I’ll probably have to get a key hole or some sort for the tighter space.

I love victorinox pocket knife saws. Terrible handle, because its a pocket knife but it's like sawing through butter.
