Cuttings, buds, and leafless stumps. Google that, it'll probably look like that.
And your wiring is atrocious at the least.
You're taking a shot at her wiring?
You need to assess the remainder of your growing season in addition to the root system. If still in active growth with warm months and 8+ hours of daylight I'd chop. I usually grow trees for a year before they get worked on; then I have an idea how tolerant they'll be of a repot or both the following season. Unless you have a greenhouse or the like, I'd wait until the growth gets vigorous next spring to encourage rooting. With these trees, there's no harm trying it in a hidden area. Walter P. would say 'go for it' if he bothered with Schef. This was very helpful, thanks so much.
So, to make sure I understood you correctly, I can chop it now and I should leave it outside afterwards under shade cloth? Can I scar the trunk at the same time to form roots or should I do that when I repot it in a few months (according to what I read you shouldnt chop and repot at the same time)?
Here's one I repotted today, and my garden in Lemoore (shade cloth)
You can see the roots on the left branch 1st photo: branch was wounded, no hormone used. You'd need to keep very humid or cover in moss or similar
