This came on all of a sudden it seems after several rainy days. The candles appeared normal and green and now rhis. Brown from the middle out. Last year I dealt with needle cast and have sprayed pretty regularly with daconil and copper. And I gave it a systemic fungicide this spring. This is only on 2 Scots pines. There is a mugo sitting between them that's unaffected. Any ideas what this is and wat I should be doing? It seems to be affecting the whole tree and I fear they are goners.

My guess would be needle cast. I nearly lost an old JRP to it last year. Try to get a systemic like clearys to apply to the soil surface and keep spraying every 2 weeks, and particularly after rain. Good luck. If it is pine tip moth damage, you'll find a hole bored through the center of the extending candle. In my experience, usually only a few candles on a tree are affected by moth damage, though I'm sure some affected trees can be more significantly damaged.
