Ha! Hidden with political sentiments!
I used to work there, Google Earth 10W elm and you can see my work nickname Shelly on the roof.
I already screwed that Gold Coast!

Then they got to talking about Mach Feez and that Whispy J. Foliage.
So I Mach 2.5ed this Gold Coast #3! Walmart..$15.
Like Mach, if I could be Like Mach!

Here's a photo from when I wired it which was August 19th, of Jesus, 1972?20170907_202532.jpg

And yesterday.

I made this to see if I can see growth, but the angle is tilted back in 1972 so its hard to see.

I have noticed little bits of crotch growth, and all this new adult foliage at the tips is still healthy, so I figure on repotting this next summer, again, to the sound of leftover fireworks!

Someone else was talking something about screwing proper screws into DW for guy wires and such...
So I found 2 appropriate screws and there appropriate sized predrilling bit, and made it happen.

Making sure not to leave any holes visible from the....oops, the front may change! Grind em nice.

Dinoduck?

There is a single trunk in there.
But if I can get the apex of the shorter trunk to continue more fluently, I may keep it as well.

But initially I was going to just whack this $15 right to the bin, variegated and all.

Then I realized.

Practice Is over.
The Game is fully On!

It's bright yellow in spring but this adult foliage has remained greener.

Kinda Gangster this one.

And the last 2 no elevator access flights of walk up on that building holds tales of Al Capone and Speakeasies.

I'll know if this is going to make it thru winter on Valentines Day.

Damn! That brass screw is from the prohibition Era too!
Gangster!

Nice to see you keeping and doing nice work with Junipers, serious. No reason it should not make it provided you let it be just don't forget to add some substrate to the top for Winter to protect the fine surface roots. ;)

I'll be darned. Shelly is there. There is only one problem. I'm the one who wrote that, not Sorce. I'm the superior power-fighter.

Nice @Bonsai Nut take you back!?

Couple of weeks ago I stayed in an AirBnB unit on Racine and Belmont for a couple of nights. Wanted to give my kids some idea of what it would be like to live in an apartment in the city. Aside from the fact that real estate on the north side is crazy over-priced, not much has changed. Next real estate down-turn is going to hit Chicago HARD.

Need to grow the pumpkins in square bottles. That is how the Japanese make the square watermelons.

you keeping Junipers

Pretty sure the "dwarf" in procumbens, the fact that they were from Florida mostly, and not watering them enough was my triple whammy of death!

Ever since I killed my OG contest Parsons I have been leaving plenty of foliage.

With some successful repots this year, my confidence is where it needs to be.

Your support as "the comeback kid", with the spirit of "never give up" even after the losses you faced...
That shit helps!

Seeing growth and healing like this don't hurt either!
20170924_102554.jpg
20170924_102531.jpg

Kept putting on adult growth and a few cones.
20170924_102623.jpg

Good healing around the DW.
20170924_102631.jpg
20170924_102747.jpg

Pretty sure I'll be taking a calculated risk cutting this back in spring....

Either right back the way in proper nexts.

Or back to the first secondaries with adult foliage to see what it does....

Maybe a mix.

Health Dependant repot summer 2018.
Likely to a slab.

Today. After noting some serious wire bite, I unwound this to free it for spring.
20180323_130046_HDR.jpg

I dug around the base and flipped out some high roots with little feeders so I cut em down to a nice base and found the front.
20180323_132001_HDR.jpg

20180323_132924_HDR.jpg
Love the flare and the quick movement.

But I had to ditch a couple branches that were going too forward.

20180323_135109.jpg

Now there is only one branch in the back of that second jin up the tall trunk. Near useless so it may come off too.

And the little trunk is kinda odd so it has till summer to shape up!

I'm gonna wire whatever this grows till then and put this in a SorceBan pot to the sound of leftover fireworks.

Really got my eye on that top triangle of the tall trunk....it's really well placed and close...
Pretty sure my future is there....and hopefully with the little one in mimic.

Sniff sniff....Spring.

@Vance Wood ! I found the following "someone else".

Someone else was talking something about screwing proper screws into DW for guy wires and such...

It was you! This is From My Spruce thread.

Probably the best thing is use guy wires when practical. I don't mean guy wires where you loop around a branch and torque it to another branch, with another loop. You should use screws and drill through holes that can be left in place for years if necessary.

:)

Sorce, as with any art, the design of a bonsai is a reflection of the material used - the particular tree's growth tendencies - and the artist's mind.

When Willard said that he was told by his higher-ups that Kurtz's methods were unsound, Kurtz asked him if he thought his (Kurtz's) methods were unsound ... after a pause of reflection, Willard said in a slow, deliberate manner, "I don't see any method at all."

At first I was puzzled at the mechanations being imposed on the poor juniper. But when it brought my mind back to Apocalypse Now, I marvelled at your mind's work ...

... the horror ... the horror ...

Old Yeller has not yet his, "shed out back" fate. He may never!

I recently got this Lynn August pot...and had a quickly discarded idea.2018-05-19-04-52-30.jpg
The color will be ugly with the yellow.

I will Jam this into or onto something equally horrifying bit more appropriate this summer....

Horrifying....
This version of me was Born in 1979.
I was at ______'s Distribution Center yesterday.
I ended up working next to the mouse trap with my Lucky Number.
If you..one, (of course, ______ doesn't ship to the Philippines, at least I didn't find any cat litter about) buy your meat from ______...I have access to it! Hehehehee!

Went from there to...20180518_131707.jpg
...yeah... I gave up the veg Life...
I am attempting Dairy Free....

From there we went to Peoria...
Not Illinois..Capture+_2018-05-19-05-14-23.png
More Butchered meat!

Horrifying! Lol!

We had to weld a clip for a chain on their cardboard bailer.
Turns out this guy has a Slaughterhouse that we work at too!

(Paragraph deleted)

So I'm really enjoying this new Job...
Ha!
Maybe I'll Put "Sorce" on top the Chicago Google building, then Google Earth it!20180516_130202.jpg20180516_130044.jpg
Beyond that wall is where they play bacci ball, do yoga, grill on 2 4ft stainless beasts....etc.

We do work at Comisky Park...non-Southsider Known as "Guaranteed rate field" ....formerly U.S. Cellular Field...White Sox.
Bitchin.

Oh horrifying....is what happens to your hand when this girl...20180423_135735_HDR.jpg
Decides you have not respected her enough and she teaches you a lesson!

I took this picture a couple weeks ago because it is the most efficient Saw I've had the pleasure to use.....
But I soon found out she was mad....mad cuz douche bags don't tend her. Mad cuz douche bags don't know/tell of her intricacies. Mad at me for doing just about every fucked up thing I can do to her to without damaging her....and just to the brink of damage....

So the other day....she told me the hand that feeds her is mine. She bit me good.

The way these fellers been treating old girl is so bad.....
Profession for profession....
It's like you telling someone to go kill themselves.
The opposite of productive.

And while making cuts on another smaller bandsaw....to 1/16ths tolerances....
I found douche bags had it installed off of level to where my 2inch material was an 1/8 of an inch off on the slant.

You don't have to be a math wiz to see the impossibility there.
(And they had old girl out of perpendicular)

The beginning.....of a tree...or a Stairway....

Hmmmm....one step at a time....

If the first one is off......
Continuing is foolish.

"Take the Time to level the Saw"

They let me level the saw.
I own them both now.

I have already identified the poison Douchebag.
The guy who puts his timecard above another.....
The guy who milks jobs till $ is gone.
The guy who tried to keep me doing a One guy Job with 3 guys till 6PM when I could finish it ala Hans...fucking solo...by lunch.

And the guy who is like me....
Recently rehired....due to hard work and awesomeness....
The guy the rest had me convinced was the problem....
"hard to work with" "doesnt play well with people" "says he makes no mistakes"

The truth is...
Hard to work with if you're dumb and lazy.
Eat shit if you can't cut it.
Finish the Job and go home.

Shit....I'm happy as hell....

But oh the disarray I learnt yesterday....
80% of the jobs I do....and talk to others on..
Is fixing other peoples mistakes....

How terribly inefficient.
