Think overall with what everyone has outlined my favorites are 6 and the new line you identified. Or a possible lower chop, just worried about the time it would take to heal.

Was also hoping to cut the pot/ root mass in half. Would this be advisable? Can make a few cuttings from the top section of the trunk to use as root grafts.
concerning roots, next spring, remove all the soil, and see what can be cut (if possible cut/reduce the big vertical roots) but, of course, keep enough fine roots for the tree to survive ^^
Just my opinion, but the trunk line i prefer is the one with the virtual (post #17) or your last pic message 18 (right pic).
I wouldn't chop this big trunk. The main work on the trunk will consist in refining the bulge/reverse tapper, imo. I prefer to perform the big cuts in june/july because there is no sap issue (no sap withdrawal, no sap flow) and the tree heals (make new scars) very quickly.
