I am setting up a couple of pedastals in my growing area to display some of my better trees. How do you folks secure the tree to the pedastal top? I am not worried about theft but attaching the pot somehow so it does not get knocked off from wind, cats, etc? I thought of wrapping with a bungee cord but don't think that would look great.

thanks

Frank

The invisible way to do it is to leave loops of wire poking out of the drainage holes of the bottom of the pot. Then, on your pedestal, drill small holes that allow you to run a cord through the bottom of the pedestal shelf and tie up to the pot wires. When you want to work on the tree, simply untie from beneath the shelf.

I use a very fine copper wire. Nearly invisble even when wrapped up over the top of the pot.

Grow big, extremely heavy trees (100 lbs +) and no wire is required...One of mine sat on its pedastle through Hurricane Isabel...:)
