Someone said every great city has a great park. I’m lucky enough to live in the burbs where the city has left some wild lands. This thread is dedicated to small specimens you have collected as mentioned in the title. These are plants are not protected or endangered and may be considered a nuisance in your area. In 10b we don’t have tons of pretty desciduous species. Always wondered what this was walking by a yellow ground carpet in the fall. About six months old.
Chinese Hackberry
Before water conservation was a thing here in the coastal desert, in the 1970s a park designer thought it cool to plant some sequoia sempervirens (coastal redwood). This was from a crown sucker which are removed every year by park personnel. About 2 years old.
