Bosnian pine......anyone familiar with them and are they suitable for bonsai?

They tend to grow fairly tight and compact, was it a particular variety? I believe they are a Red Pine.

I purchased one at Home Depot last year but found little information about its use for bonsai.
Most people I talked to said to treat it like a pinus nigra-austrian black pine.
Though I have little experience with this species, I observed that it did not bud back readily compared to
some of my other pines, ie. JBP, Mugo, Scots and Pitch pine.
