John, trying to decide on a temp for the thermometer to go off at to open the man door to the garage and allow heat in. (Thinking during arctic spells) What is a good temp that won't induce die back? I need to set two numbers a high and low...so I can control a bit of temp with that man door bring opened or closed.

@Mellow Mullet Might I add that double blooming one is amazing! I didn't realize there were that many varieties.

I am not sure what you are asking Darlene, but if it is how cold can the garage get before you induce heat, I would say 40 degrees. I put mine in my garage during cold snaps (we very rarely have more that a couple of days in a row of freezing or below freezing temps) and the temps in the garage are in the 40's to 50's. I get no die back, they usually lose most of their leaves from going in and out. I usually leave them outside unless it gets below 38 - 40 degrees. I have some in the ground and some in rooting pots that stay out all year and do fine with just minimal die back.

Thanks John...figured with your having success...I would shoot for your temps. Since it varies on what each site I go to states. If I took in all the temps and went lowest to highest it would have been 20/70 (low/high) which sounded far fetched to me.

Thanks again @Mellow Mullet .
