Highs in the low 40s F today, winds up to 20 mph.
Perfect weather to smoke a pork butt for dinner. First chance to BBQ with my kids all year.

I used to live in Stanley... apparently many areas of town are entirely destroyed.. I’m still trying to “get ahold of” my friends From there.

Rather normal so far, mist in the morning but very little rain. The Loire is very high though, it rained/snowed a lot in the past few days in "Massif central".

My house is about 500 meters from the shore, and it's on the highest point of the town, about 50 metres or so, so i'm on the safe side for floodings...

Lately, it’s rained once a week, always in time for everything to get a drink on my bench

Highs are mid 40s, lows are just below freezing. 35 right now

I’m still getting used to the weather. Back in SoCal, it’s mid 60s, lol

Photo of storm cell aftermath from Wed night. Blew apart my “new” cold frame/ greenhouse

Jay! It stopped raining yesterday. Skies cleared. Sun came out for the first time in weeks. Temperature dropped too to a nice 24F! But well, perfectly in time for christmas, the sun will leave, temps come up and the rain will start again.

Lol, there was a discussion in another thread about not seeing sun very often in winter. I suppose this year the sun will not come out again here. We did have 3 days of sun in december though.. And although everything is still frozen, it has started to rain just now, which does not seem to stop till 2022. Gluhwein anyone?!

First decent snowfall of the season courtesy of the Great Lakes...6-7", perfect timing for the official start of winter. Should be enough for a white Christmas despite the fact that it will probably rain on Christmas day. Whatcha gonna do?

Pretty, but I'm not mad it's going to be 60 degrees here on Christmas.

Still weird here. Was -29f on Christmas eve and it's supposed to get to about 40f today. We've gotten at least a foot of snow recently and now it's windy and raining.

These 60-70 degree changes in temp over a few days is getting old.

Was sunny between storm cells. Rain/ snow forecast is in constant flux. At 4pm it says it’ll rain by 11 and be constant. Come 11, dry as a bone all night. Weird storm systems

Recently had a high of 70º F or close to it.
Todays high comes at midnight. Been in the 50's all day will end at 66 they say.

I don't remember ever having most of my trees still on the porch this late in December.
I have most of them down off the rail ahead of gusty winds tomorrow.

Out on the island in NY the weather has been unseasonably warm. First year that I can remember that we haven't seen snow yet. We've been seeing a bunch of 40's and even 50s, with few drops below freezing. It's also been somewhat wet. Can't say I'm upset as I hate winter and this is my first winter caring for trees. Hoping this will help with my very bad timing on repotting and help the roots heal a bit before winter really sets in here.

I think I'm closer to Ashland, Ky than I am to Charleston, WV.
I certainly work closer to Ashland by a long shot, but any way you cut it
New Years eve begins the rain around the drop of the ball time or just before.

I'm getting my studs on the 4x4 tomorrow or Saturday. Monday looks to be a frozen icy mess into Tuesday afternoon
judging by this 7 day outlook. 3" of rain then dropping to -6.1º C or 21ºF then not warming above freezing potentially...
