Thought I might visually share -

[1[ the Caribbean / Honduran pine mix [ the Caribbean pine is Tropical off of
Cuba ]

Made one botch - hardwood and needs ground growing to trunk thicken.
Using the J.B.pine technique needles can be had at 3 and 4 inch lengths instead
of 6/8 inches.

So here you are, needles were cut for ease of seeing.
Next a concrete pot.
And we live with the small trunk ------ get that on the next effort.

Effort maybe around 10 or 11 years from a seedling
soil is 5 mm silica based gravel -- 7 or 8 parts
aged compost 3 or 2 parts.
Pot is earthenware porous.

Okay what you are seeing here is another fustic test.[ Chlorophora t ]
The first time we grew one of these it took around 6 months to
reach a trunk size of 3 inches and was about 8 feet tall.

Ths was cut 12th August 2018 - healing observed 2nd November 2018
tree is in a colander in the growing zone. It is presently around 6 feet tall.
Planted around April/May.

The cut has utilized the energy used for trunk thickening.

Next stage, get to the 8 foot height and hopefully the 3 inch trunk/
Then another cut to above the first branch for the beginning of the
6 branches and movement in the trunk.

Mother Fustic - the only one able to produce branches and branchlets in great
quantity.
Wanted a 3 inch trunk - failed - lost branches - start over.

All of our fustic tests are on Mother's cuttings ----- 10 more to go
