Nice to have someone else agree. She had two standing side by side that i struggled with in deciding which one. When she does a work for me, she usually does four for me to choose from.

Hiroko was born and raised in Japan. we had an interesting conversation about where the chop mark should be placed. I insist the signiture comes to assist any question of directionality. many of the known "famous" types in Japan place their chop on top saying I did this rather than
a more humble lower position indicating movement.

Very nice piece indeed  Do you frame those or is it optional?

The art work is attached to a scroll with bungee like corners of stretch materials which is like a monophilament material (like fishing line) that doesn't show but holds the artwork in place,

having numerous scrolls with affixed art work gets expensive so having something that the scroll stays the same and art work changes helps out cost as well as storage concerns.

That is only one method of making shikishi kake scrolls...There are about 4 other techniques used in Japan.

Yes I agree I see them a few different ways and I am always interested to know what is proper. Display is truly a whole different world then plants. I have also recently been studying various Japanese Gardens and the complexity is astounding.

Hey Jonathan, would it be proper to ask what other methods of of securing the boards to the scrolls are in existance. I have seen bottom 2 corners, stetchy material and on the top one
line that covers across the entire top. :)
