Yes but alcohol is expensive. A gallon of bleach is $.99 at Walmart.
I'm not a fan of bleach odor. But I can try it. Another thing is, I ordered mancozeb, but still take a few days to deliver. Can I go ahead, trim those brown tips, and spray the tree with daconil for now ? I also have neem oil at hand.

@Bonsai Nut 3-5 teaspoons for gallon ? I just received the mancozeb by mail. Concentrate. Label does not say exactly how much I should dilute

Will alcohol do the trick, instead of bleach ?
I just keep a container of disinfectant wipes sitting beside my work table and wipe between each tree, as often as I remember to. Makes it easy and don't have to smell bleach the whole time or worry about spilling it on my clothes..

I go slightly stronger. I use 1/2 Tbl per quart, or 2 Tbl per gallon (6 tsp). It may be because I only have a tablespoon in my gardening area and no teaspoons for measuring :)

I will keep that in mind. Last time I wiped my tools with alcohol. Maybe I need something stronger.

Thanks ! Now, should I cover the soil area, or that don't really matter ?

It is a topical - so it only kills fungus it touches. Therefore focus on the foliage and branches. I get a few drips here and there down into the soil, but I have never seen anything negative come of it.

Contrast this to Clearys 3336 which is a systemic and NEEDS to be applied to the soil and taken up by the roots.

I’ve been noticing something similar. No need to start my own thread now.

Just following up with this year-old thread to see if those with growing tips were able to manage with Mancozeb and removal of affected foliage.

I had some brown tips coming out of winter storage. Sprayed with Bonide Copper Concentrate solution when I got them out of storage, and once more since. Doesn't seem to be spreading... but brown is generally intermingled with healthy foliage. Second pictures shows one weak shoot that is more widely affected. Was hoping to develop that shoot to fill in a spatial void, but seems like I might need to cut it off.

So, how did these trees respond?

How I can remove the foliage tips ? Can those brown tips be pinched without affecting the rest of it ?
Yes they can be trimmed or pinched off or rubbed off. It would seem you have been panicked by the "if you pinch they will die" crowd, which is a lie with Shimpaku Junipers.
