Nice little starter juniper. I find shimpaku frustrating for very small trees as it is hard to develop good compact foliage pads on that scale.
Shipaku is apical dominant so having that large upright apex is likely to weaken the cascade section. My attempts seem to do much better when the apex is minimal or pruned harder than the cascade branch most of the time.

I think this tree has promise, but not as a cascade.
