I post these in accent thread. For my own keepsake putting in one spot .. I still need to ID everything most is from a native plant nursery but there is also stuff I collected.
All native to PA. Stuff in formalized containers are Kusamono , I’d only categorize 2 as shitakusa but more of those is on way.
Containers are collected Slate , Pumice rock , lace rock , some random Japanese production pot , Barry Murphee, Sara Rayner and Vance Hanna . Next time I’ll positively ID everything, and update into fall some of these will really pop.F4E6CF9C-E52D-40C8-B4A2-97FC9698C63F.jpeg

So how old are these compositions?
The planting with the pitcher and sundew/ grasses and cranberry is 2 years old.
The sedum glaucophyllum is 2 years old in a very old pot until this year.
The horsegrass and sundew with grasses is 2 years old.
Everything else was make this year , they’ve been in the shade or dappled except for sedum. I also cut them back a few times.

Awesome, yeah it seems like they’re settling in nicely already! Will only get better and better 👍🏼

Would love to actually collect rocks from the coast or sea.. I collected these from mountain streams and a stream near me

Went hiking in mountains today w my dog. There were pathways that seemed to be intertwined with areas that electric towers spanning mountain faces were on. In between those in natural areas were all sorts of exposed rocky areas with near misses and lichen. I collected some of the moss and lichen for shitakusa with some muck and ground up the remaining mosses for propagation in a flat.
