Here is a shohin Burt-Davi Ficus, that I have been working on recently
it is about 3 1/2" tall, with a trunk about an inch thick.

The wire on it is no. 1 if that is any indication of the size...
Still needs work of course, and the pot needs to eventually be changed,
was the only one I had that would work at the time.

I think that my goal for this tree, is to be eventually around 6" tall,
by the time the branches eventually grow out, and taper off.
Also I feel that way the tree can remain realatively small and healthy
at the same time.

Two decades ago, I was made part of a study conducted by the US Air Force about this and everything went well except mechanical. There were concerns about maintenance to most facilities and surprisingly it boiled down to nuts and bolts (literally). Thread sizes (including piping) at that time was cited as the biggest hindrance in moving forward. I am not sure what came out of that study after.
