I have also found copper to be useless, I don't use systemics but now I definitely won't bother. Lime sulfur was actually what I was thinking this year. Just frustrating because I have had some chinese elms give a really nice fall show but only without black spot which just makes my trees look horrendous by mid fall

Finished defoliating my elm today. What a pain in the ass that was. Hopefully the new leaves come back fungus free.

@Brian Van Fleet curious if you feel the same as your comments from 2015 looking at the 2022 image? Not that I'm trying to say this tree is that great - I just value your opinion. Would you still say the initial decision was a mistake? And what would you do to further improve the tree? Thanks!

We're pretty much fully leafed out again after the defoliation and so far so food. No signs of black spot yet.

mine went away with its June defoliation. So far so good, new leaves are hardened off and lightly cut back
