What a fantastical little tree. You seldom see that kind of structure in such a small tree. If you come across any older photos, I would love to see them!

Yes I have old photo’s of this tree:

First photo was the tree in 2001….

Second is from a few years later, 2005. You can see it had an ugly nebari. Earlier attempts to try to optimise that, failed.

So the only way to improve was: airlayering! I did that in 2007.

One year later I opened the airliner: roots enough!:

I planted it quit deep into his pot, to benefit rootgrowth

Here’s the tree in 2010

And here a nice photo, shot in 2015.

2015.JPG

In 2017 I decided to set the tree back a few years, because the branches were better too thick.

2017.JPG

I also made a virtual that year of the tree in the future: more refinement and longer branches at the lower part of the tree. You can also see that the nebari is bigger at the right side of the tree. When I’m repotting the tree, I try to lift the roots at the left side as much as possible. You can see at the first photo that the nebari is getter bigger and slowly better at the left side….

The last photo is from january 2021, without leaves...

2021.jpeg

I hope to reach the goal you can see at the virtual....
