I don’t know why it’s dying. Is it the heat? I don’t think I’m overwatering. Or under watering. I recently started testing with a gauge beforehand to be careful.

It’s kept outside. Gets some direct light and lots of shaded light. It’s over 100 degrees out, but that’s normal for my area. Low humidity.

No recent work done on it (no repot, wire, or major trim).

No recent fertilizer. I want advice before I feed.

Also, most of my other outdoor container plants look rough. Holly, cypress, Texas sage, all look kind of dry in the leaves even if the soil is moist.

I treat regularly to prevent spider mites because they have killed my plants previously. Can anyone help me save it?

Beneath those pebbles there's organic soil I think.
Which doesn't have to be a problem, as long as you adjust your watering.

But.. I think this tree is suffering from the grey death. The foliage has lost its shine, looks dry. That means its roots are dead. Whether its cooked, over watered or under watered.. Hard to tell. But I wouldn't get my hopes up.
I'd keep it in the shade and brush off those pebbles so you can see what's going on with the soil. Jam a wooden chopstick (or similar) in the soil and use that as a probe for watering; if it's moist, don't water. If it's dry, water the heck out of it.

If it doesn't live, don't fret about it. It happens to all of us. A new procumbens of similar size can be cheap, like 10 dollars. So replacing it if needed can be done in a breeze.

Thanks. I removed the pebbles per your suggestion.
